Welcome to our blog! I decided I would enter the world of technology and give the blogging thing a try and update everyone a lil more often about us than in my yearly Christmas letters. So here we go................
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Well it has been a crazy year here at the Milius home. To start out for those that don’t know in August we MOVED!! We are out in Queen Creek now which is 20 miles from the old house. Although it seems like we are in another country after living in the same home for 13 years. The whole moving thing is a long story so to put it shortly we truly feel the Lord guided us out here. It has been a long hard adjustment for all. We are renting a house while we wait for our Mesa house to sale and then we are building a house in the same subdivision we are renting in. So new school, new church, new neighbors, new shopping (there isn't a lot out here yet) etc. I am not use to change and it has been hard for me but harder for Cooper who HATES change. He is causing lots of problems more than normal for him! We all like the new church. It is different being the “new” people but out here that changes weekly because of the growth here. The school (which is K-8th grade) is terrible so we are trying to figure that out. Our subdivision is the whole school pretty much. At the little boys bus stop on the first day I counted 48 students get off the bus. I have seen 7 different buses in the morning picking up children all to go to the same school and that is with me just sitting parked at the bus stop. I have been told there are at least 10 buses for our school just in our subdivision. We are having a new school built in our subdivision that should be done when the new school year starts. That will be nice since the school right now is completely made out of portables. So we shall see how that works out.
So as for us all individually lets see….
ROB He has been self-employed for a little over 2 years now and he loves it! We see him all the time now and that is great. He is still teaching primary at church. He has the 8 year olds and he enjoys it. He really is lovin living out here in Queen Creek he likes that we hear the train at night and that it is kinda country like living. Everything is just slower paced out here.
BONNIE She is not quite use to the slower pace out here yet. It's different. She has had to make some changes in all the extra things she would go do in Mesa now that they are in the boonies (ha-ha). So she has her stamp/scrap booking club every month but no more book club or weekly scrap booking or twice a month cooking class. Only thing to get her through it all is that when the new house is built she will finally have a craft room all to herself!!! She is the Activity Day leader over the 9-11 year old girls which still is her favorite calling. Plus her best friend Kelli is only a street away.
TANNER 14 yrs. old He has stayed at the same junior high school in Mesa because the school out here doesn’t have ELP classes for 8th graders. He has a 4.0 GPA for this semester! Good job Tanner!! Now that he is 14 he can go to the church dances and every weekend he is trying to find out where in the Valley one is being held so he can go. Some other things he likes are basketball (SUNS), drums, playing video games(Halo III, Guitar Hero III & Rock Band) rock music, and mostly GIRLS!!!
COOPER 9 yrs. old He hates the new school and honestly we can’t blame him it is crazy. He has made a friend but they get in so much trouble together that he isn’t allowed to play with him that much. This move has been the hardest on him. He misses his Best Friend Jake that lived a few houses away. We try to get them together when we can. We just keep trying everyday with him. He was the classroom Spelling Bee winner! WAHOOOOOOOOOO!! When it came time for the Spelling Bee he didn't do so good but what do you expect when 2nd grade up to 8th grade are all spelling in the same Bee? He likes football & baseball, collecting sports trading cards, playing video games and board games, skateboarding, jumping on his pogo stick, building things with his erector set and playing with army men.
CARTER 6 yrs. old He thinks school is great and he loves it. He tells us all the time. He has a really great teacher thank goodness. Carter still talks ALL the time! He is the most affectionate child I think I have ever met. He just brought home a request form to test him for ELP. He wasn't surprised because as he told my friend Shelley last month "I'm smart................Just ask me" Yes He did actually say that!LOL. He likes to play with his friends, play video games and board games, ride his scooter & bike, go to the park, and most anything else.
WALKER 3 yrs. old He still doesn’t like his little sister. He does like T-Rex’s and he thinks he is one or DK (the gorilla) from Donkey Kong depending on his mood. His favorite movie is ”Night at the museum”. His favorite color is DARK blue. He has decided his name is Walker M the reason being because his favorite letter is M because it can be a W too. He loves to have us spell everything for him. He will ask what letters is this and want whatever he is talking about spelled and he tries to spell it with you. So of course his favorite show is “Word World” and its his show NOT Sissy’s show.
KENNEDY 1 yr old She is so fun! She has attitude!! She is so different than the boys were at this age. We can take her out to dinner with us or out shopping and she behaves herself even if she has missed her nap. She tries to talk all the time and give every one a piece of her mind. She answers to the many names we call her like Sissy, Kenna, Lou Lou, Kenna roo, Lucy and many more. She likes dolls, barbies, shoes, bracelets, necklaces, sunglasses, bows and purses but not piggie tails so much. You can buy her friendship with CANDY but when its gone so is her loyalty! She has lately started turning her back and ignoring you with her pouty face on if she doesn't get her way!! It's so funny! It probably won't be in a few years but right now we enjoy it. She also just last night shrugged her shoulders for the first time when I asked her a question! We were laughing so much cuz it was just too cute! She has everyone but Walker wrapped around her cute lil finger!!
